I offer both coaching sessions and counseling sessions. These modalities are different ways of working together, but I believe there are shared tactics. I begin with the assumption that all people are creative and resourceful. My goal, therefore, is to provide an environment that encourages and helps you to access your self knowledge and awareness.
Counseling: When we meet for therapy sessions, my approach is psychodynamic and exploratory. While we will address specific changes in your life, it will be within the larger context of your personhood and psyche. We will come to know your patterns and adaptive behaviors. We will make room to explore the shadows, doubts, and projections, and we will have time to sit down with shame and unease. There is no subject too small or unimportant, and no issue too large or overwhelming. Everything matters.
Coaching: If we are working together in a coaching context, we will establish a plan with actionable steps to attain outcomes that serve you well. My approach will still have therapeutic elements because I believe that change is only long lasting if it is accompanied by a deeper understanding of our choices. I work with people going through different types of transitions — career shifts, health concerns, retirement visions, separations, rehabilitations, aging related issues, to name a few. Whatever reason brings you into a session with me, we will attend to it with attention and care.

Are you considering separation but paralyzed with fear and indecision?
Coaching provides a calming, non-judgmental thinking partner to help determine your next steps. The ongoing process of how we make decisions is often more important than any single decision we make, and in the middle of what is often a hurricane of reactivity, the coaching container provides a necessary space for self-reflection and confidence building.
Are you in the midst of the separation process and overwhelmed by it?
Coaching will help prepare you and minimize your time and costs with attorneys and other professionals. Being in alignment with your values will help you to advocate for yourself, and to let go of what does not serve you.
Are you anxious about co-parenting?
Coaching offers tools to navigate parenting through separation while keeping your child forefront and center.
Have you come out of a divorce, but are still reeling from it? Are you surviving but not thriving?
Traditional therapy can be effective in understanding how you came to be where you are, but coaching will help you to get to where you want to go, and to redefine yourself for the future. It’s a recovery rooted in purpose!
